Population Health Management and Preventive Healthcare (Hospitals)

(Hospitals) Vision 2030 prioritizes preventing health threats, recognizing that community-based interventions are far more cost-effective than tertiary treatment of advanced morbidities. Facing a projected 2.4-fold increase in the elderly population and a 15,300 hospital-bed capacity gap by 2040 in Riyadh alone, proactive Population Health Management is an existential imperative. This course trains primary-healthcare managers, community health officers, and epidemiologists to leverage epidemiological data analysis to risk-stratify their populations and target interventions where they yield the greatest return. National initiatives backed by the Health Holding Company, such as the Taakkad early-screening campaign, anchor the practical examples. A central focus is reversing the paradox of primary care, where the discipline carries rhetorical importance yet suffers chronic financial underinvestment. Participants learn to shift from episodic acute care toward wellness education and early detection delivered in community centers. By designing screening programs, registries, and proactive outreach, clusters reduce emergency admissions, safeguard ACO capitated budgets, and improve regional health indicators. The program closes with applied tools for measuring population-health impact and building a sustainable preventive-care business case.
